This wall is the one dedicated to seasons. Traveling, at a friend’s house or simply going through interior newspapers, I have always been fascinated by the walls decorated with plaster casts and capitals that highlight collections. If well coordinated, the walls become truly original and unique. A collection wall that I love is the one in the house of the actor Alberto Sordi in Rome with a wall dedicated to his collection of birds. Or that one of Aerin Lauder in gold, white and blue, or the pastel one by designer Cathy Kincaid in a colonial house in Dallas. I’m not passionate about modern art, since for me to categorize “art” something that is defined as such only for the name of the designer or for fashion, I am not passionate about. I’m not even fond of unique paintings that occupy the walls, unless they are antique and well matched. If the financial situation does not allow it, I prefer bare walls and focus on colors.
Until few days ago my wall hosted a collection of porcelain birds, some bought from antique shops or markets and others received as gifts. On this I will dedicate another post in the future, since “my wall” made many chatter 🙂
Close to Christmas, it seemed right to cover the house with an internal forest, given the restrictions to go out in nature.
With a few Euros I bought some fake trees attached with hot glue and added a house. My instict would have added much more, but I stopped in time, becoming “almost” minimal 🙂 🙂
